Here at Trimble Creek Lodge we sometimes enjoy sharing our food and beverage recipes with our guests. Here’s one of Lulu and Michael’s favorite Margarita Recipes for a hot summer day – Lulu’s Brother’s You Can’t Drive Home Margaritas!
We’ve shared this recipe before but this summer we changed it up a bit and are enjoying this slightly more tart version. It’s still not as powerful as Lulu’s Brother’s actual recipe (which is best enjoyed seated with friends on a long summer evening). However, it’s similar to our first recipe in that you create a Concentrated Margarita Mixture that you can keep in the fridge and then dilute with ice and water when serving.
Lulu’s Brother’s You Can’t Drive Home Margaritas!
1 can frozen lemonade concentrate (12 ounces)
6 ounces lime juice (fresh or a good quality bottled lime juice)
14 ounces Triple Sec
24 ounces Silver Tequila
This is a concentrated mixture, so to serve, mix equal parts water/ice and margarita mix, by the glass or by the pitcher.
Pour into a pitcher and if desired, garnish with a few sliced strawberries for a pretty, mild strawberry variation.
Chill and serve plain or with a sugar coated glass edge (rather than salt).
Lulu and Michael, (with thanks to Lulu’s brother, Greg and also to Michael’s sisters Donna & Tammy who have a similar recipe!)
